The DA:NCE Coalition Action Committees are for coalition members who want to take on a more active role in helping DA:NCE Awareness create community, resources, and awareness in tackling the hypersexualization of children in dance issue. Participation in the action committees involves signing up to contribute to specific tasks within one of our four initiatives: 

1. Grant Research: This initiative will focus on researching grants and funding sources for DA:NCE projects

    

2. Create Hypersexualization Unit for Dance Pedagogy Classes: This initiative will focus on creating a unit on hypersexualization in dance to be utilized in collegiate dance pedagogy curriculum.

    

3. Community Chat Events: This initiative will focus on organizing online community chat events, providing DA:NCE supporters with opportunities to connect around specific themes.

    

4. Contacting Costuming Companies: This initiative will focus on engaging with costume companies to advocate against the sale of hypersexualized costumes in their stores.

How the Action Committees will function:
Each initiative is broken down into bite-sized tasks to make participation accessible for our Coalition members. With this structure, you can sign up for a task (or multiple tasks!) and contribute at a level that fits your availability, capacity, and interest. Whether you have a little time to spare or want to dive in fully, there’s a place for you in this work.
